IT'S A
WILD LIFE
Wildlife Fact File and Personal Blog

I'm Jess
I'm a recent Television Production graduate from the Uni of Westminster, London. In August, I came to South Africa to volunteer with the South African Animal Sanctuary Alliance (SAASA for short!) for two months. During my time here, I'll be working across all three of SAASA's animal sanctuaries to assist with their media and marketing, so I'm making a fact file of the sanctuaries and species that live there to help me out along the way. I'll also be blogging my experience and updating my photo and video gallery during the trip, so keep checking in for updates!

Discover SAASA
SAASA runs three wildlife sanctuaries: Monkeyland, Birds of Eden and Jukani. These are all located in the Western Cape, near Plettenberg Bay in South Africa's Garden Route. As the names suggest, Monkeyland is home to various primates, and Birds of Eden hosts a mixture of exotic and African birds. Jukani provides home to rescued big cats and various other wildlife species including zorillas, racoons and honey badgers.

Read My Blog
While in South Africa, I'll blog regularly about things like the kind of jobs I get to do while volunteering, what the sanctuaries are like, and stories about the wildlife. I get weekends off so hopefully I'll be able to explore some more of South Africa and try activities I'd never get to do at home - and blog about all this too!

View My Photos & Videos
During my trip, I'll be updating my photo and video galleries with content I produce while volunteering and during my free time. I'll also be posting on Instagram - scroll down to view my feed or follow me if you're interested! You'll also be able to view my other social media pages once I start uploading content in South Africa.

At the moment, not all the photos on the site are my own photography, so I'll also make sure this changes once I have chance to get snapping!

Support Me
Because I'll be doing unpaid volunteer work for two months, I have set up a Go Fund Me Page to raise some money to help cover my flights and living costs. If you would like to contribute anything at all, or help me by sharing the link with friends and family, click the 'Donate' button below. Every little helps and any support will be hugely appreciated!
